Someone is always with them

A safari is a series of handovers: the terminal, the road, the lodge gate, the airstrip, the flight home. We are the part in between, and the driver who meets you at the airport is the one who sees you off.

It means the road knowledge, the lodge relationships and the small fixes are in the vehicle with you, not on a phone somewhere.
